Detailed Itinerary (4 Days)

DAY 01 - DELHI – HARIDWAR (220 Kms/4.5hrs) – RISHIKESH(25 Kms/1/2 hr)

Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative who will assist you in transferring to the New Delhi Railway Station to board the train to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar you will be transferred to the hotel at Rishikesh by road. Check-in to the hotel. Day at leisure. At dusk, visit Triveni Ghat to witness Ganga aarti. Triveni Ghat is a famous place where religious commemorations are held regularly. The devout people sit on the steps of the Ghat barefooted. They bathe in the sacred river simultaneously offering prayers. As the sunset begins, the whole atmosphere becomes holy with vibrations of the ringing of the conchshells and bells and chanting of the vedic mantras. The devotees perform aarti of the holy river Ganga by holding plates with flaming ghee. Return to the hotel and stay overnight in Rishikesh.

DAY 02 - RISHIKESH sightseeing

Early morning, drive to the Yoga Ashram to attend a yoga class. Yoga is an ancient practice followed by the Indians to remain healthy in body, mind and soul. It helps to strengthen the will power and control the emotions thus helping to sail through the ups and downs of life even mindedly. Yoga is now practiced across the world in order to be fit physically, mentally and spiritually. After the Yoga session, return to the hotel for breakfast. Post breakfast, witness the splendors of Rishikesh by visiting several religious places. Begin your visit by gazing at Lakshan Jhoola, a rope-bridge across the holy river Ganges. An old saga narrates that Lord Ram’s younger brother Laxman crossed the mighty Ganges on jute ropes. A magnificent temple dedicated to Lakshman has been constructed close to the bridge. As one crosses the river, one comes across Kailashanand Mission Ashram which provides a panoramic view from the top. Besides this, there is Ram Jhoola, yet another suspension bridge on the banks of river Ganges. Near Ram Jhoola, there is Swargashram, a peaceful place occupied with several ashrams. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Rishikesh.

DAY 03 - HARIDWAR sightseeing

Early morning, drive to the Yoga Ashram in order to attend yoga class. After the yoga session, return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. After breakfast, get ready for a sightseeing tour of Haridwar city. An auspicious city, it is the site for Purna Kumbh Mela, the largest religious congregation held once in 12 years. Visit Chandi Devi temple situated on top of a hill which provides a bird’s eye view of the city. Next visit, Bharat Mata temple which comprises an illustration of Mother India. The temple has figures of legendary heroes who have played a crucial role in the development of the country. Thereafter, visit Shanti Kunj which is a fairly huge ashram amidst fantabulous gardens. Next visit Maya Devi temple, a temple which is still untouched and thus gleams with a quaint look. Continue your journey to Bhimgoda tank, a sacred tank whose heavenly beauty draws people from across India and the world. This pious site brings to the memory the splendid scenes from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Venture into Pawan Dham, yet another religious place with ornately decorated idols and embellished with glass and mirror work. In the evening, witness the aarti ceremony at Har-Ki-Pauri, a sacred Ghat on the river Ganges. The aarti provides a splendid view of a priest chanting the mantras followed by people releasing thousands of lighted lamps on the river Ganges. Return to the Rishikesh hotel and stay overnight in Rishikesh.

DAY 04 - RISHIKESH - HARIDWAR(25 Kms/1/2 hr) – DELHI(220 Kms/4.5 hrs)

After a sumptuous breakfast in the morning, drive to Haridwar railway station to board the train to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, transfer to the hotel and check-in. You will be transferred in-time to the Delhi airport to connect your flight back home or for an onward journey.
